If the Bush family were so powerful...

How in heck did Reagan get elected? Surely the fix was in and the powers that be would've shoehorned him in?

If Bush had such good connections, why was Bush's only time with Reagan, over 8 years, a weekly lunch at the White House?

If the Bush family had such clout, why did Nixon appoint George Sr. as a US representative to the UN?
(one of the cra--iest appointed jobs there is) We can assume Jeanne Kirkpatrick's family and Madeline Albright's family must have equal clout.

Why is Bush losing the public opinion war if such powerful, omnipotent forces back him?

The conspiracy theorist trade about the Bush family is a thriving industry. But that's really all it is. The Bush family, like hundreds of other political families in the US raise kids "skilled" primarily to feed at the big government trough. It's not a conspiracy - it's a "trade".
