I was a wall flower up until my mid-30's. I wouldn't have been much help to you when we were both younger. But I can help you now if you need it.....;~)
I finally found my voice and sense of self, and now there's no stopping me. Years of control by unsupportive family members, bosses, husband and (later) boyfriends, then single handedly raising two kids successfully by myself, helped me to sift out the complete bullshit I was being handed.
And I've been politically active and have looked under a lot of rocks.
