A career as a politician is an anathema to anyone with strong moral compass.

And like the mob, the corporate lobbyists recruit all the newly elected in short order. Some work for different mobs and battling mobs - but they are all working for somebody.

An honest politician? Better chance finding a monolith in the everglades.
