John Hagee, for one. He's getting coverage from a Conservative publication, Human Events. He's missed the date of his prediction, but that doesn't bother these folks. Check out his Christians United For Israel (CUFI). Saw this guy on TV last night, and he wants war RIGHT NOW.
The reason so many of these folks are agitating for war is a belief that they can create the situation necessary for the "end times". If Israel can take back land guaranteed them by God in the Middle East and rebuild the Temple, the stage will be set for the Rapture.
Two problems. One, God also promised that land to the Arabs through inheritance, the same land. They are alleged to be descendents of Abraham, also. So apparently they each can claim a 50% interest in an undivided whole.
And second, after all is said and shortly before it's done, the Jews will be given a chance to convert to Christianity. If they refuse, they will be condemned to hell.
So it's not really an interest in Jews, or Israel that's operating. It's an interest in themselves, which is OK, and rather cynical since ultimately Jews are ALL condemned to hell. (Those that aren't are Christians.)
A lot of these Christians are scary folks. I know what Christ would have thought. Read "The Sermon on the Mount". Unfortunately, Christ is mostly forgotten in these brands of Christianity.

Many evangelical Christians advocating war on Iran right now.
