The only reason anybody nowadays believes that, in their basic worldviews, Nazism and Communism are at opposite ends of a spectrum is because Communists and leftists spent most of their time after WWII trying desperately to sell that ridiculous idea. Between that and trying to cover up and justify the actions of the Soviet regime over the years--pretty much identical to the actions of Hitler's--it's small wonder that when you run across a seventy-year-old leftist holding a sign on a corner, that their forebrains seem to have collapsed into a small, smoking heap.
"Well, they were mortal enemies during WWII!"
Not at the beginning. It was amazing to see the turnaround from "anti-war" to "pro-war" that the American Left displayed the minute the treaty between the Soviets and Hitler broke down.
Anyway, big deal. The Crips and the Bloods are mortal enemies, too, but their views on existence are identical.
