My turn: Oh, come on

Wasn't it just five posts ago in this sub-thread that you remarked unfavorably about fear of "creeping theocracy"? What makes fear of "creeping collectivism" any more credulous?

I'll tell you why neither of them are credulous, without a coup that suspends the US Constitution: Administrations change every four to six years. Four, if the incumbent is voted out after one term; six, when the re-elected incumbent President's party inevitably loses the mid-term Congressional election.

I have been one of those concerned about creeping theocracy. My fears have been allayed by the recent news that the Religious Right cannot bring themselves to support any of the candidates of their pet party, added to their ongoing failure to impose their anti-science agendas in biology classrooms.

"Collectivism", near as I can tell, is a term invented by a second-rate science-fiction writer who had a whole cabinet full of axes to grind 50 years ago, and who needed something that meant "socialism" without using the word. Rand should have taken a cue from her fellow pulp hack, L. Ron Hubbard, and founded a religion instead. Both of their followers in later generations are out of touch with reality, and fanatical about remaining so.
