"nor does it have anything to do with rising global temperatures"

What exactly do you think a weakening of the magnetosphere does when it lets more radiation pass into our atmosphere?

Radiation creates heat. The magnetosphere is changing - now. It's shifting - now. And with it will come changes in temperatures all over the world.

A microwave oven is a great analogy. The earth is like a TV dinner being cooked. When the magnetosphere weakens, it's as if the wattage on the microwave goes up and the microwaves heat the food that much faster.

Look at the record algal bloom in the pacific caused by warmer waters. It perfectly correlates with the weakening of the magnetosphere over the western hemisphere. It's all linked and there is plenty of evidence for the changes we are seeing.

While it may be more politically gratifying to point the finger at the corporate polluters and blame them for everything from melting ice caps to warming sea waters, they are bit players.
