As an aside, I reject this left-right brain dichotomy. logical vs creative, humbug! Highly logical minds are usually extremely creative, and those who fancy themselves artistic because they can't, usually aren't. Many scientists are musicians or writers, and appreciate art and poetry. Most modern artists (I'm not talking about the masters prior to the early 20th Century, before incompetence became acceptable and appreciation the province of bourgeois snobs) are technically incompetent in the rudiments of their craft as well as esthetically desolate.

Real artists, those who create work which is instantly recognizeable to have a transcendent or emotional imact, are highly skilled and mastered the technical aspects of their craft, whether it be drawing or musicianship; before they even attempted to use that craft to communicate on an emotional level. They usually have developed a strong initial inate talent with further deep study and discipline. What passes for art these days is simply the pathetic whining of those who have nothing to contribute at all.

Those of us who dare to point this out are usually dismissed as Philistines, unrefined brutes who are incapable of subtle or delicate thought. Bullshit, I say. I am an intelligent and educated man, I have confidence in my sense of esthetics and my appreciation of beauty, don't tell me "I don't understand it". You don't know what you're talking about.
