re: "Hah! I knew it." - Voldemort

Luckily I finished Hallows last week, before getting a whiff of this.

I'm glad Rowling had brains enough to not put Dumbledore's sexual orientation into the book. It would have been a classsic mistake made by too many authors who get distracted from their own story to step on a soapbox for a moment. Tom Clancy's novel 'The Bear and the Dragon' was the worst I've read where the author made such mistakes.

If Rowling would have put it in the book it would have been a distraction with no pay-off. It certainly doesn't make the story any better knowing that. The only way she could have pulled it off with any grace was to have Reeta Skeeter blow the story, and leave it up to the reader to decide whether or not to believe her.

If Rowling had introduced this in Hallows though, imagine the creep factor every time Dumbledore summoned Harry to his office for another evening of late night adventures. Dumbledore as a possible pedophile is not really an image I would have liked in my head while reading that book.
