Now you're the one not reading me. I think we both agree it's both factors, the surge and the sunni payoffs, that have brought down the violence. You just don't want to acknowledge how much the surge has helped because it shows how incompetent your boys Bush and Rumsfeld have been. You just don't have the intellectual honesty to admit it.
30k troops is a lot more than you give credit for, especially given the firepower of our armed forces. We only have 20k total in Afghanistan! In fact 30k is the amount of troops Petraeus asked for to get the job done. Do you really think it's just a coincidence that violence has gone down while the surge has been implemented?
