This is killing you, isn't it?

The new strategy is working, and the anti-war people are tying themselves in knots trying to figure out the new talking points.

Two months ago Petraeus was being called a liar to his face because he said the casualties were coming down. I was reading all kinds of reasons on leftist blogs and news articles on how casualties weren't "really" coming down. Over the next two months they got smacked in the face by the reality, and you know what?

It didn't faze them a bit. You know what? It never does.

Look at this wonderful article on Alternet.

I'm watching the Left actually re-engineer history in real time. Hell, I'm watching them re-engineer their own brains in real time.

A year ago, according to these same people, Anwar was "lost." Iraq was doomed, without a shadow of a doubt, to an inevitable civil war on the part of factions that could never live in peace.

Now I read this guy telling me about how Iraq is just naturally busting out in peace all by itself, if only the stupid Americans had just been willing to get out of the way. Anwar has been begging for U.S. support since 2004? That's a new one from the anti-war crowd, but you can see shiny new Conventional Wisdoms in the making.

The beauty of it is, even in they're own minds, they'll convince themselves they always thought these things. I guess it's why leftists are never wrong about anything.

In a couple of years, you'll be hearing how Kerry would have done the surge sooner.
