I use the term "Western" culture a bit loosely. But although some people interpret that term to mean the same as "European" or "white," that's not true.

As just one example, currently many Asians are doing Western culture and capitalism almost better than Americans. Conversely, many of the actual Europeans and Americans have gone over to non-Western collectivist ideas. Incidentally, this latter group includes a remarkable number of "Wasps" and "Jews."

Over the last couple of hundred years, minorities and Europeans with individualist ideals and thinking tended to gravitate to the U.S. This is what has enriched our country, and it has nothing to do with them being "black" or "brown."

The article, like some other analyses of this kind of thing, confuses causes with effects. I had a bit of fun on this board after I pointed out that democracy is not a primary in society, but a result of deeper philosophical and cultural ideals.
