Outlook Express is cranky about accessing the network, giving me the "unexpected termination" of connection sign when I hit the "send-receive" button. The workaround has been to keep hitting it until something clicks.
I think this has something to do with my old Norton 2004 antivirus program, which may not be as happy with XP as it was with Win2000, although theoretically it's supposed to be compatible. If I turn off the "examine e-mail" buttons, Outlook is happy again. I'm assured that the "auto-protect" will keep watch over my computer and incoming and outgoing traffic even with these buttons off.
My alternative is to give a newer version of Norton a shot, but that's almost a hundred bucks for the whole package (which I have been pretty happy with in the past).
