The Saturn V only had thirteen launches. The first thirteen shuttle launches were a success too. A 2nd Gen shuttle would learn from the lessons of the current design. Move the main engines off the orbiter and use the Ares V for thrust. Use a new metallic TPS. Strengthen the the vehicle so that it can carry larger payloads and return them to Earth. Such a vehicle would be of great value.
