While the West and its allies struggle year after year to figure out the morality of this conflict, all our enemies have to do is kill, and kill, and kill again, secure in the knowledge that the first thing the West will turn on is each other.
We can see this in Pakistan already, with anti-Musharaff violence and protests, as far as I can tell, far outweighing opposition to al Qaeda and the Taliban. It's so much easier to attack the straw dummies than the real monsters.
Let's see what Sharif does. Despite his mourning, he has a lot to gain politically from this. Which is NOT an implication that he had anything to do with it. Al Qaeda has announced its actions loud and clear.
As for the weapons, we hope that behind the scenes something is being done. This can't have been a surprise for those who think about such things, both in Pakistan and elsewhere.
