"Economists say odds of recession are rising"

Friday’s report on job growth could shed light on outlook for 2008

First, I'm sure there are those who will say long after the economy passes into a depression that there is no recession. They will buttress their argument by finding obscure statistics and quoting obscure economists funded by conservative think tanks.

Second, I'm sure there are those who will say it's not Bush's and Greenspan's fault for making money cheap and easy in order to overstimulate the economy. Predicting and understanding there would be a reaction to that is as easy as figuring out what's gonna happen next as an arrow is shot into the air.

Third, somehow Clinton will be blamed. Maybe for appointing Greenspan, maybe for leaving a surplus, maybe for not cutting the taxes on the very, very wealthy.

Heh, heh.
