Maybe the media of 20 years ago would've tried to push through a particular liberal political agenda but today it's all about ratings and corporate profits, flash, glitter, and conflict.

In spite of the fact that Obama's an excellent orator, he's also a safe one. His message may be tinged with emotion but the content is somewhat conciliatory. Viewers aren't going to change their dials for that. That's one of the things that surprises me about their snubbing of Edwards. His speeches are full of fire and have that edge of speaking truth to power. I can imagine building news commentary around some of the controversial topics he proposes and yet nothing but silence.

The only thing I can figure out is that he scares them. Media owners like Murdoch and GE don't have their hooks into him like they do with Hillary and Obama.
