is because he is dead as well. Guys that take on the entrenched establishment have this habit of ending up that way.
Edwards is right now appealing to the left because he has really evolved from that calculating loser controlled by Kerry to a man of passion and fire and the Democrats need that in a bad way after the past year of conciliation from the likes of Pelosi and Reid. If you'd read posts by his supporters you'd see they aren't all stupid.
I like the hell out of the fact that he's in the race not because I necessarily want him to win but because he's pushing buttons and illuminating the idiocy of the Washington elite and the huge corporate power that pulls the strings. Without him in the race, I doubt Obama would've beaten Hillary in Iowa. It doesn't really matter if Edwards is a complete phony. (although I happen to think there was a profound change in the man after his son's death and the health problems of his wife). The guy obviously knows how to take on power with a "damn the torpedos" style. To me that's refreshing. I'd get the same buzz from Ron Paul if he weren't loonier than a jaybird.
If we can keep him in the national spotlight we can make those scumbags squirm a bit. I'd think that would really appeal to your personality.
