It's kind of amusing, yet at times the results ring eerily true. For example, using terms for the human genitalia as polar objects, the results are distinctly asymmetric, and the effects of the censor filter become pronounced, suggesting that the technique might be tapping something deep in the human psyche, at least in that area. When you amp up the emotional connotations of the value by using "sacred" and "profane", the asymmetry is even more pronounced.
That's sort of a good point that the results are the observations of one party about the other. When the term is "smear campaign", it's certainly not a Democrat or Republican saying "I'm engaging in a smear campaign". But where your point breaks down is the implication that it's a measure of propensity to complain, as if Republicans/Wingers would suffer those insults in silence. Are you kidding me???
It's worthing noting that a great deal of the hoax email traffic I see is about invented slights and imagined outrages, fueling the fires of Winger outrage with lies. It's inconceivable that the Right would miss an opportunity to get outraged over something real.
