The Office Depot deal sounds very interesting. On the net, this is the closest I could find on the 'net. Maybe the stores are less expensive.

I hadn't thought of the display failing, and then leaving one without anything. (I'm working off of a 10 y/o Compaq CRT display now, and it's plugged along faithfully since I was given it.)

I'm thinking you are correct. Well, I know you are correct, I'm just still fascinated with some of the other technology. I do believe I'll get a 17" WSXGA+ laptop, with an express TV card for travelling. I already have a cell phone which will function as a fairly high-speed modem.

At least, that's what I'll do if I do what makes sense. Sometimes not my strong suit.
