Where I'm at

I would vote for McCain over any of the Democrats. Some on the right are really bent out of shape about him, and some of their reasons are good ones. Still, any Democrat would be worse on ALL of the same issues, so what's the point?

But I would prefer Romney over McCain.

Wish Thompson had done better, but so it goes. If he's still in on February 5th, and the other contests aren't too tight, I'll still vote for him. Another McClintock vote, I suppose.

I think Hillary would be dangerous. Too many Democrats have forgotten too much. I watched her and Bill pulling shenanigans during the Nevada thing, and I think Obama is going to call them on it.

Obama, I can't get a bead on, but I think everyone would know a lot more by election time. Not my first choice if things hit the fan, but other young presidents have unexpectedly risen to such occasions.

I think Obama would stand a better chance against McCain than Hillary would. A very strong "Nixon-Kennedy" thing would work for Obama in any televised debate. McCain is, frankly, old, and doesn't radiate the vitality that the elderly Reagan did.

This wouldn't be so much of a factor for Romney.

Just as an aside, it's fascinating how many Democrats have literally reformatted Iraq out of their personal hard drives. Nobody even mentions it as a voting issue any more. McCain is a serious Iraq hawk, and this seems to bother nobody here.
