Don't confuse targeted and temporary rebates with broad-range tax cuts.

I'm not sure where you get "worst post-recession recovery," considering the current economic statistics, which frankly, I'm getting tired of repeating.

I'm sure a little thing like 9/11 had nothing to do with any economic problems. Or Katrina. That we were still reducing deficits and attaining excellent employment and other numbers last year was a frigging miracle.

Of course, now that we're hauling out billions in Treasury cash to write rebate checks (tax cuts just leave money in the economy that's already there,) you can probably kiss those dropping deficits goodbye.

As far as low-end spending stimulus, these people are running on thirty-year-old ideas. Back when almost everything a working family bought was manufactured in America by Americans, there might have been something to it.

Who actually ends up with all that spending cash now?

There do seem to be some producer-oriented tax cuts in this latest proposal, so at least that's something. We'll see what gets signed.
