That's my point Tom! None of us would be willing to accept a full blown collectivist culture. It's just that a hybrid system is completely possible if both sides don't go off their collective rockers. We already have it and it works well in some applications.
But look in a mirror some time. You're so scared crapless of the commies coming in and taking over (which really hasn't occurred in Europe even though they are legitimate political parties in most countries over there and they actually have clout.)
Truth is the world's learned its lesson Tom. Nobody wants to be a complete communist anymore. There's just not enough frills in it even for the rulers. It's this austere existence and it always fails economically.
