that in post after post where Tom brings this subject up, none of the non-righties on this board seem to be defending someone like Chavez so my guess is we simply don't care what's going on in some third world country that's pretty much out of our control and has little effect on our daily lives.

I should probably let Tom answer this but I might as well. The point isn't Venezuela - it's the system that the people embraced.

Tom's point is that the folks here, in the good ol' USA, ready to embrace socialism over capitalism and who think being rich is akin to being a leper, are the ones who need to look closely at these 3rd world countries that embrace socialism and espouse anti-capitalist rhetoric.

And the another ignored post, by Tom, had to do with Clinton's healthcare plan the last time around, something relevant to folks who can expect more of the same as they run, not walk, to socialized medicine.

I watched this the other day and I couldn't help but transpose the "art teacher" with some of the Zoners here. It's a bit long, but what a time-warp and what great (yet fairly accurate) corporate propaganda!
