No, Robert. It isn't.

I can't reframe. You've never actually constructed a frame in the first place.

"Every American is obligated to consider the good of the country" is just noise.

It has no context, it has no background. It has no definitions connected to it, and if you pressed anyone on this, you would find that "the good of the country" would be whatever each individual person imagined it to be. No two would be the same, and some versions would be downright scary.

To illustrate that, note that the same phrase could have come just as easily from a rabid right-winger, a Marxist, or come to that, a Nazi living in pre-war Germany.

It's exactly the sort of phrase that would dazzle someone of limited perception at a political rally.

So if that's as far as you can take the concept of "principle," where do I take it from there? To you, it's apparently just about the sound level, not what's being said. And as Lee pointed out elsewhere, the Left has been making more noise than anyone else has.

Incidentally, there's nothing wrong with an ideology, if it's formulated using the proper set of principles. Maybe you think that word, like so many, means something else.
