Don't know much about history.
We can afford to skip most recent history because our families are going to bore us to hell with it while we're growing up. I don't remember learning much about the Depression and WWII in school, but I got the scoop from my parents with all the gory details, from people who actually lived through it. (Born in 47, graduated HS in 64)
In a related story, there's a girl in my office, 25 years old, with a BA in Microbiology and an MA in Geotechnology, who had never heard of the Falklands War. She makes up for it by looking terrific in jeans.
