re: My reply to Samizdata rules

The initial premise is a bit much. Even the IPCC doesn't talk about ten meter ocean rises. In their recent report, the worst case estimate over the next hundred years is about two feet.

Humans can adapt over these time scales. Look at the Netherlands, which pretty much re-engineered their entire nation back in an era when you could shut off and drain entire sections of ocean without environmentalists tearing your throat out.

The entire twelfth province of the Netherlands, Flevoland, was once sea bottom. In the 1980s, the process of reclamation pretty much ended.

It probably requires a five-year permit process over there now to build a new windmill.
