We bail out, and when things go to hell, we go back in and re-take all the places we just spent a year clearing out.

Leave the remote base, go peel al Qaeda out of some town, then go back to the base and wait for them to come back.

As I mentioned in another post, this was pretty much how our military was doing things before, and it didn't work. The new tactics do.
