You have no room to speak of brilliant Tom. None of your side's plans have any idea how to financially support the plan that is going on. We're flat out broke pal and our country's sliding rapidly towards a severe recession or depression or are you still holding out for Iraq's oil revenue to save us?
The argument anymore has nothing to do with how the surge works or doesn't. Bottom line is we have to leave the area or face the same destruction of our country that the Republicans so proudly took ownership of when the USSR collapsed because their economy couldn't sustain such a huge military presence. Now I don't buy that Reagan's arming the Afghanis or pumping money into Star Wars was a huge factor in that collapse. I think the wheels were in motion long before that ever occurred but that's a different topic.
Jody, go listen to Obama's testimony and questioning yesterday in the Petraeus hearings to hear his position. I'm not so sure I presented it well as I did it off the top of my head. He very much so acknowledged the uncertainty and messiness of pulling out and basically said that it appeared that things would be no worse in the end. All Petraeus or Crocker could say was the tired Bush mantra "It's hard work". Wow, such brillance.
