re: How well is the private sector doing supplying cars to people who don't drive?

If this were only about the fifteen percent of Americans that are uninsured, or more accurately, whatever part of that fifteen percent thinks it needs such insurance, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

This is about dragging the vast majority of people who are quite satisfied with their situation into a government monopoly health care system that would almost certainly be inferior to what they have now.

Why? Because the government wants that wealth and power to flow through them.

Start talking about helping out that fifteen percent, and then we'll see where the ideas go.

We could begin by dealing with the vast maze of regulations, interstate restrictions, mandates, and other government shackles that make it almost impossible for the private health insurance system to become a competitive industry.
