Well, as much as I used to like Clinton

I was grossly unaware at the time of some of the backroom deals he did that put us into many of the problems we're in today. NAFTA is showing its true evil. Allowing corporate control of the media was a huge mistake. It's very likely the crash of the internet bubble can be pinned on his economic policies. The Republican takeover of Congress is often blamed on the sins of his terms in office. His mistreatment of Gore during his run probably helped cost Gore the election. Imagine a world today had even a few of those things gone differently.

My contention is it was his "experience" and connections that enabled him to so easily sell out to the corporatists that pushed both of these ideals on us.

Now don't get me wrong. Comparing the legacy of Clinton with how history will view GWB, there's no comparison but let's not pretend that he didn't do some very boneheaded moves as he learned the job. They all do.

On your other point, I really don't agree that Obama seems weak. I was just saying if he were he's certainly earned it. The latest interviews with him show him as strong as ever and able to not take the bait the interviewers are dishing out. He's stronger than I am in that regard. I would have punched someone by now.
