Elections are, by nature, "winner take all." I don't get why a primary set up that way is necessarily "anti-voter."

Bush got picked once. Every party runs the incumbent for the next election. The guy he beat out is running now--so it goes.

The primary process is so erratic it's not much better than drawing straws in my opinion.
