The one I gave is it. Genetic engineering will allow us to move to the next level. Humanity is far from perfect. Libraries full of medical journals can atest to that. What people like me want is to eliminate as much of the suffering and distress from the world as possible. Ill health and low intelligence breed poverty and dispair.
Imagine a society where most disease is nonexistant. Diabetes, alzheimers, poor vision, cancer, obesity, asthma, arthritis, weak immune systems, and a whole host of other defects are a thing of the past. Where every child born would be beautiful, strong, intelligent and have a lifespan measured well over a hundred years that's mostly free from illness. People that can regenerate lost organs or appendages after accidents. This isn't a nightmare to be afraid of, but a dream to work towards. A healthy society is a happy society.
