This genie is already out of the bottle and there isn't anyway it's going back in. The technology needed to do it is common medical equipment. The knowledge is known by tens if not hundreds of thousands of people. Society will demand it. The anti GM crowd remind me a lot of anti-abortion activists. They have a great deal in common.
