Of course the "effect" is real. So is the popularity of mindless reality television and idiot newscasters like Olbermann. I'm well aware that there are plenty of people who swallow that kind of intellectual belching like a carp swallows a dough ball. Many of them are Obama fans, and not by coincidence.
That it's "real" doesn't mean it's a good thing, Robert. From such an electorate fuehrers eventually arise (a general statement, not a specific shot at Obama. He isn't bright enough, frankly.)
Emotions over reason, "feel-good" over policies.
How does it feel to know that the success of your party rides on there being enough ignorant and stupid voters in America?
I don't expect the voters to greet the Republican with flowers, any more than Bush was hailed as an ideal candidate in 2004, even by Republicans. I do think there's a good chance of people running away from the Democrat like their lives depended on it, though. You can only take gas so far, and there's months to go before November.
