Okay, I see the problem
The first disconnect was when you redefined the term "anti-American" to mean "politically incorrect." I don't think we're talking about the same thing, here. "I don't like gays" and "God damn America" are both hostile statements, but they're not synonymous.
The second disconnect was mine. You were using Robertson as a general example of an evangelist, not as a connection with McCain, and I overlooked that when I read the post. Sorry.
