I just got a call from a girlfriend of mine down in Daytona Beach who was mugged for her purse last night in her parking lot around 8:30 pm. (She lives in a nice area). She was getting out of her car and headed towards her apartment, when a black guy grabbed her purse.
She didn't let go and was dragged across the parking lot before she thought the better of it.

The police said muggings and purse snatchings have risen sharply lately because of the gas crunch. That they are being stolen for their credit cards to gas up their vehicles. Just wait until they can't afford food for their families. It's going to get ugly.
