Every time they pass a law to protect us consumers, it raises the cost of our medical care. Case in point, HIPPA. Yeesh. Stupid ass law. The intent was good, the actuality is pathetic. The hospital where I work had to add a new division for Compliance because of HIPPA. Two employees plus all the paperwork and crap that every medical worker now has to do. Sheesh. Quit protecting us, dammit! Just make it illegal to access or pass our records so that they can arrest idiots who don't comply rather than having all this Compliance crap the medical offices have to pro-actively do.
