Its a sad day. My HP48s calculator died. The last couple of weeks its taken a few pushes of the On button to get a response, but today the thing just won't come to life in spite of fresh batteries and messing with the terminals.
Time to shop for a new one I guess. The new ones have a USB connection and SD card slot which doesn't suck. I really love rpn and th big display the graphing calculators have, though I haven't used the graphing portion in over a decade, so I'm not sure its worth getting another 48 model just to have the larger screen.
The old one gave me 15 years of life, and I bought it used from a guy back in '93 just before the G model came out. I'll be extremely lucky to get 15 years out of the next one I'm sure.
So here are my choices for now
HP 50G

or
HP 48G-II
The 48 doesn't have an SD slot though and much less memory, so the only reason for buying this one would be the cheaper price.
Any of you have either of these calculators?
