The total amount is not just his disability payment, but his regular military retirement pension added to that. These, and other items are pointed out to the highly-ignorant blogger by a number of military commenters in the blog.
You are welcome to float the idea of means-testing military disability and retirement pensions. Let me know how your military friends feel about that.
