At last, for Bush, a "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED".
"Energy Dept. sees gas staying near $4 a gallon. Oil expected to stay well above $100 a barrel, official tells House panel."
On his limited behalf, we knew this is what he wanted. By creating instability in the major oil-producing area of the world he opened the opportunities for speculation and manipulation. With the result that oil companies are making profits unrelated to supply and demand. Just a small part of his legacy.
By the way, if refineries are operating at capacity, as is claimed, why would pumping more oil increase the supply of refined products? I haven't seen that asked or answered.
