We were not arguing about "why we got into Iraq." Focus.

"Was it worth it?"

To answer that question one has to seriously compare the cost of the war in lives and treasure to what the situation would be now if Saddam and his sons still ran Iraq.

It's not a simple comparison, or one that has all the "pro" and "con" answers on one side or the other. It requires examining a lot of factors, as well as knowing a lot about what Iraq was like prior to the war, and what Saddam was doing.

It's not surprising no liberal really wants to go there. They know this line of thinking at some point ends up with "Iraqis were better off under a totalitarian dictator whose policies killed over a million of them."
