Objective values exist. They are fundamental components of progressive evolution.
Many cops are corrupt. Many enjoy violence a bit too much. Many enjoy the thrill of getting to do what others can't.
Does this mean you do away with police forces all over the world?
Does this mean they serve no purpose and have no objective value?
Of course not. They serve a real and needed purpose on this world. They have a definable value.
This moral outcry about the decline of America's virtue coming from the left is a real hoot. Someone needs to explain to them the difference between morality and nihilism.
Hating corporations, rich white guys, consumerism, the police and military forces while embracing same-sex marriages, global warming propaganda, free downloads, porn on demand, free healthcare and the elimination of all drug laws is not about morality anymore.
It's about craven, self-indulgence until one dies, with no concern about others, the society or the nation one lives in. It's the stark manifestation of complete ignorance regarding economics or global power balances. It's nihilism paraded as morality, so as to allow the purely selfish ones a transparent facade to hide behind and point the fingers at others for their self-created fear and resultant escapism and misery.
Our society is the byproduct of balances and compromises. We maintain a military and police forces, knowing full well many of the folks who apply will not be the creme de la creme of society. We know there will be abuses of power. We accept that and have set up mechanisms which try to filter out the worst offenders.
We embrace capitalism because we understand it is light years above every other system and the ONLY one that generates new wealth. Without capitalism the world reverts to a bloody, savage battle for survival. The fittest will grab and hold. The world is reduced to looting once again. Socialist nations exist at the mercy of capitalism. Period. No capitalism - no socialism.
The nihilists deny this. They refuse to comprehend it. They wish to believe in fairy tales, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and such notions as global resources divided equally for everyone with no laws, no work, no morals or expectations of any kind to get in the way of their free-for-all. That's the nihilist left's goal. No religion. No responsibility. Just feel-goodism and indulgence. No one should be able to complain about them, but, you better believe, they reserve the right to complain about everyone else who dares to disagree with their lifelong party on death row.
Sure, that description will annoy the heck out of folks here, because it hits the mark all too painfully well.
