if I baked a clay tablet with a magnet inside it (oh, and remagnetised the magnet after it had cooled below the Curie point) would you believe the message from Aliens that you should buy the bridge?
Suggestions:-
1) hit this "rock" with a hammer and see what's inside it
2) Make serial sections of this rock and see what's inside it and how it is layered
3) Make CAT scans of it and see how it's structured in 3D, and work out how it was made.
