I can see why it might do just about anything to bring in some money,
especially tourist dollars. There is nothing around it for many miles.
They are going to milk the Roswell Incident for as long as they can,
and if I were stuck in Roswell I can't say I would blame them. This
latest "news" seems to be the most recent injection.
Roswell has TWO museums dedicated to UFOs, by the way - or
at least they did when I was there.

While I was there, I saw a guy wearing a T-shirt that essentially
said the Roswell Incident was an alien ship crash and anybody who
thought otherwise didn't know what they were talking about. I
would have loved to debate him, but I got the feeling I would have
had about as much luck as I did with the creationist I once "debated".
They also have a museum dedicated to rocket pioneer Robert H. Goddard, who conducted his major tests in the 1930s and 40s where
there was a lot more room to launch rockets than in his native
Massachusetts, but that place of course doesn't get nearly as much
publicity despite its role in making real spaceships possible.

I visited Roswell about 15 years ago
