A short response to "Remarkable observation" over at Space

...it's amusing to read you espousing beliefs anathema to Conservatism, such as diversity and learning from other species/cultures previously; and now a philosophy anathema to free-market capitalism...

"Anathema to conservatism? Anathema to free-market capitalism?"

I've come to understand that part of the problem I have here is that people have no understanding whatsoever of what my philosophy is or how parts of it connect, and most people have an easier time simply plugging me into the cartoon version of conservatism they carry around.

Believe me, I've tried to explain my philosophy, ethics, and the rest, but I have hit a brick wall every time. This place seems to be more about confirmation than learning, and I've largely given up.

The fact that you somehow see diversity, the workings of ecology, and human nature as "anathema" to the derived social concept of the free market pretty much nails it.
