You message clearly expresses some frustration, but beyond that it's a bit cryptic.
One interpretation is that you have an image problem, Tom--we don't perceive you and your beliefs as you think we ought to.
You think your image is "cartoonish", and I recall naming the character a while back: "EveryWinger". What I meant by that, and why it's relevant, is that you defend Republicanism and Conservatism across a broad spectrum, and so consistently that it adds up to an image of "Keeper of the Dogma". While you may have your differences with Bush, there's no daylight between you and the standard canons of Conservatism. You're a faithful defender of the orthodoxy, to such a degree that I think for many of us around here you're the anthropomorphic personification of Conservatism. In becoming an avatar of anything, how can you help but be a little cartoonish?
Like I've said before, Tom, you're a victim of your own success.
(If Terry Pratchett took a stab at the anthropomorphic personification of Conservatism, I wonder what the character would be like? [he he, maybe that's Lord Vetinari?])
