Just read Heinlein's SIASL

Is there anyone that he didn't offend in that book? It is just amazing how dated it is in story, style, and lack of PC. He would be savaged these days for some of the things he wrote, and if you cast the book in your mind it is hard not to put Clark Gabel, Jimmy Stewart and Claudette Colbert in the parts.

I don't know why it took me so long to get around to reading this one. I thought it was okay and memorable but not particularly satisfying.

An impressive thing about Heinlein is how readable he is. I occasionally have difficulty reading some authors when/if the story bogs down. One of my favorites is Verner Vinge but in his most recent, At Rainbows End, I find myself skimming some pages. With Heinlien the words seem to flow one to the next, regardless of my level of interest.
