"32º" is how the melting temperature appeared in my morning paper, not even an "F" after it, and no hint at all that there even was such a thing as a "C" thermometer used in alien lands (aka, "The Rest of the World.") No doubt an editor decided to fix the "0ºC" because no real American would comprehend ice melting at anything but 32º. It's just... natural. ;-)
