Obama is going to have to get faster.
One of the Clinton's tactics which has been adopted by McCain is to have the equivalent of a "war room" which answers negative charges extremely rapidly. Often the answers were extremely negative themselves, or in the case of Clinton were pure smears. However, the rapidity of them seemed to prevent many of the negative material from sinking in.
So far Obama's been slow. The negative charges have been allowed to sit there and stink up the place for a while.
And I wouldn't worry about the polls too much now. I think it's impossible to be in the lead the entire way, that voters get tired of that and then apathetic toward the candidate.
Let's see if Biden can be a charming, likeable Carville.
